Definitely liking it! :D This was my first time doing FYJT art too so I'm happy I wasn't the only noob! :highfive: Not that you can even tell when you look at this... Really very stunning. May I ask what you used to color this? It's so soft and subtle...

Thank you so much! Yes, I'm glad I wasn't the only newbie :handshake:. I used GIMP program, which is kinda the same as photoshop, but its FREE:love: and I just use a fuzzy type brush to blend areas in.

I just saw your submission and wow was it amazing!! Totally love the colors and how elaborate the flower is.

Hmmm, I've actually tried GIMP before, but after using photoshop, found it kind of difficult. Must say I have newfound respect for it now. Maybe I should give it another chance? :D I love it how this looks very much like a traditional piece, not all clear cut and you can almost see the brush strokes...

If you are using photoshop now then you really don't need to use GIMP. What I've read about the difference between the two programs is that what takes several steps to do in GIMP, you only need to do one in photoshop, so photoshop is actually better. Its just that i have been using GIMP for so long, changing to photoshop has been tough, plus photoshop slows my computer more than GIMP does.:shakefist:

Oh I don't have photoshop on my new computer, that's the problem. And I can't afford to buy it being the poor student that I am... :tears: But I would only use it occasionally anyway and this has certainly made me feel more optimistic about GIMP. ;)

Same here. There was no way I was going to spend that much money for a program I am only using for a hobby, which is the reason why I had started using GIMP. I believe though that amazon right now is offering a really deep discount for the student edition of photoshop. There are also some great GIMP tutorials on youtube too if you do get stuck on something, but since GIMP is pretty similar to photoshop, I'm sure you'll pick it up really quickly.

I love the way you've coloured this, so pretty and soft. Also really like how their expressions match that kind of atmosphere too, nothing harsh, just nice and (lol)serene

Thank you so much!!! When I read FYJT, I feel like a lot of the feelings exchanged are quite subtle so I wanted to create a drawing that reflected that. I am very glad you like it!
